The following information gives the current status
of the Council on Naturopathic Medical Education (CNME). CNME is
no longer recognized as an accreditor by the U.S. Department of
Education. This according to the U.S.
Department of Education.
Accrediting Agencies
Names of Approved Accrediting Agencies Are Followed by a (1), (2) or
(3)
(1) Denotes the Agency gives both Institution-Wide and Programmatic
Accreditation, depending on the type of Institution.
(2) Denotes Agency gives Institution-Wide Accreditation.
(3) Denotes programmatic accreditors.
An asterisk (*) following an
abbreviation indicates a name change or otherwise not approved
accrediting agency.

CNME* Council on Naturopathic Medical Education
On
the 6th of Decmember, 1999 ANMA announced that the National Advisory
Committee on Institutional Quality and Integrity recommended CNME be
denied their status as an accreditor of naturopathic programs.
