ANMA Convention Is Here!

By: Mary Dunlap, N.D. for Dr. Charles Curtis

ANMA is proud to announce its 28th annual educational convention. This event is always well attended and successfully brings together members, ANMA officers and board of directors, including merchants and other interested parties. In our effort to constantly improve, we will have many exhibitors with the very latest products for your practice. The main purpose for each annual convention is to offer continuing educational credits by presenting current updated health information to enhance your knowledge and practice abilities. This year the ANMA convention will be held July 24, 25, 26, 2009 at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In past years there have been many discussions involving legislation, scope of practice rights, and qualifications necessary for such practice. This year the ANMA convention is no less important. Many changes nationwide are taking place in the naturopathic profession, and it’s imperative that you as a member be involved. This is an opportunity for the membership to voice opinions and suggestions to be discussed and considered. Sunday will also include CPR certification for ANMA attendees provided by the American Heart Association. This is an opportunity to gain CPR certification, or to renew your certification as required every two years.

We highly recommend you maintain an active interest in your future. Non-involvement and non-interest in trade conventions and tracking legislation in your state can be disastrous to your practice. We recommend the web site www.statelocalgov.net to monitor such bills. Once you are familiar with the site, it takes only a few moments of your time daily to protect your right to practice. If you have any questions please contact us at 702-897-7053 or via email at admin@anma.org.

If you haven’t already made your plans to attend the convention, you should do it today. ANMA Board of Directors will be there to meet each and everyone of you. See you soon!

ANMA wants to hear from its members. Please become involved with ANMA’s quarterly publication by e-mailing us your opinion regarding the profession, of ANMA, or suggestions to improve our website. In addition, submit any articles or studies you would like to have published in the upcoming JANMA.

Sadly, a few months ago ANMA and the naturopathic profession lost a dear friend and supporter, Dr. Peggy Zellner. It is with great sadness that ANMA says good bye to her. You will be dearly missed.

Finally, I would like to thank all those supporters who contribute regularly to the political action fund. This fund has increased the ability of ANMA to be active in legislative matters around the country. Through your support ANMA has played a major part in defending the rights of the Naturopathic profession for the past 28 years.

Harvesting From The
Seasons of Life

By: Dr. Eliezer Ben-Joseph

The tide comes in and then recedes, the sun rises, giving light, and sets bringing darkness. Drought plagues the fields of the world, followed by the rain in abundance. The heat of the August sun gives way to the penetrating cold of the winter storm. The smile gives way to the tear.

For each of us existing on this blue and white sphere called earth, the wheel of life continues its constant turn, all human emotions appear, disappear, and appear once again. For all of us, the only constant factor in life is that we learn to experience the changing of life’s cycles, without being changed by these cycles. To make a constant and conscious effort to improve ourselves in the face of changing circumstances, is to assure a tolerance for the winters of life’s events, and to permit ourselves the full enjoyment of the blessings of life’s harvest come the autumn.

These then are the cycles of life, the first, springtime the time to take advantage of opportunities, friendships, love and new ideas.

Springtime follows the turbulence of winter. it is the season of activity. It is the time to plant and enter our fields of life with the seeds of knowledge and a commitment of determined effort. Spring comes with its abundant beauty, yet do not be lulled into inactivity soaking in the aroma of the fragrance of blossoming flowers, otherwise you will awaken to find planting season over, with your seed still in your sack. Remember the seasons come without emotion and cares not what you do. It is God who gives you the wisdom to know when to rise from your comfortable chair and it is you who must dig deep and find the discipline within yourself to make the effort of tilling and planting the fields. Those fields are your mind and body and it takes effort to keep them both healthy.

The springtime of life does not come often so do not let it pass you by while you contemplate the hardships of the past winter of your life. With the gifts of intelligence, wisdom, and freedom of choice given to us as humans and different than all other animals, exercise the discipline to plant in spite of the rocks, weeds, or other obstacles before us. To take full advantage of the spring, rid the soil in your mind of the weeds and rocks disguised as negative opinions, worry, doubt or pessimism. It is fertilizer of the faith, love, enthusiasm, and effort that will overcome the worst forms of bugs, and weeds.

Springtime merely says, “here I am!” so choose action, not rest. Choose truth, not lies. Choose a smile, not a frown. Choose love, not hate. Life provides no assurance that the planting of seeds will provide the reaping of a harvest. Yet to expend no effort during the spring will assure no results come the fall. Every seed produces its own kind: A seed of doubt, or fear, or distrust placed in the mind will also produce its own kind, inaction, pain, fatigue or the inability to do your work. The price or effort of thinking thoughts of love or prosperity, or self-confidence is no greater effort in the mind than the price given to thoughts of hate, poverty, or self-doubt. Only the rewards are different. Each day is given to us as a new season of spring. The thoughts, deeds dreams, and efforts of today will provide tomorrow’s harvest. There will be no better day, no better opportunity, no better springtime, no better time to begin than the current moment. Seize the moments as you find them and mold them into your better future.

“Summertime – a time to protect and nurture.”

Success in life is not an easy matter, nor is it an easy matter for the seed to push away the soil in its quest to find the light that gives its life and health. The spring is a time for the creation of things of value, and those things now require the season of summer for growing and gaining strength that they might yield their harvest the coming fall. Develop an understanding and awareness of the fact that good will always be attacked. It is nature’s way. Learn to accept the existence of negativity. Expect adversity for it shall surely appear. Be grateful for adversity, for it forces the human spirit to grow. Human character is formed in our response to difficulty not in the absence of difficulty. All things, even adversity, have there worthy purpose. Let’s face it... their will be people and events that are going to hurt you, and disappoint you. It has been this way since through recorded history. Since you cannot control the weather, or traffic, or your boss, or your neighbors, or the ones you love, then you must learn to control you, the one who’s response to the difficulties of life really counts. Do not doubt yourself, for where doubt resides, confidence cannot. Do not neglect yourself, in diet and exercise, for with neglect comes the loss of your health. Do not imagine yourself to be less than you are, nor more than you are. Seek always to become all of which you are capable. You are a fertile seed of the creator of all things, destined to live and not lie dormant, to spring forth from the soil called life, and grow upward toward the unlimited horizons of unlimited potential.

It is your destiny to tap your talents and to achieve all that which you believe yourself to be worthy.

The fall – a time for harvesting the fruits of our springtime labor. Fall is a time for rejoicing as well as a time for a searching of the conscience. For those who planted abundantly in the spring, and who fought against the bugs, weeds, heat and the weather of summer, fall can bring rewards of harvest. Nothing is more exiting than a full and wonderful crop, and nothing more dreadful than a barren field in the fall. So it is with those given the responsibility for planting, and so it is also to those who are given the responsibilities of life. An unproductive and meager harvest makes confession of our own past failures both difficult and necessary. The law is simple, and known to all. The law is “As you sow, so shall you reap.”

In all areas of the human existence be aware that what we put into this world we get back from it. It is nature’s way of “evening the score.”

In the fall, we either enjoy, or we excuse. For those who failed to take advantage of the spring, who failed to guard their crops throughout the heat of summer, there can only be excuses, and excuses are merely attempts to place blame on circumstances rather than on ourselves.

Winter – Prepared or Unprepared.

A great lesson of life to learn is that winter will always come. Not only the winter of cold, and wind, and ice or snow, also the winters of despair and loneliness, or disappointment, or tragedy. It is winter when we think our prayers go unanswered, or when the acts of our children leave us shaken or stunned. Winter comes in many forms, and at any time, both to the planter of crops and or to our personal lives. The arrival of winter finds us in one of two categories: either we are prepared or we are unprepared. To those who are prepared, who have planted in the spring, guarded their crops during the summer, and harvested during the fall, winter can be yet another season of opportunity. It can be reading, for study, a time for planning, for gathering our strength for the coming spring. It can be a time of great enjoyment, a time to share with those we love. Winter is a time for rest and recuperation, a time to enjoy the fruits of our labors. To those who are unprepared, the arrival of winter is a time for regret and a time for sorrow.

Without the pain of earlier discipline we pay the heavier pain of regret. Regret is an empty cupboard in your kitchen.

For things or circumstances to change, human attitudes, opinions, and habits must change. Let winter find you planning for the arrival of spring, with appreciation of the past, with gratitude for your achievements, adversities, and uncertainties of life, for each is a blessing, which removes limitations from the possibilities of life. Winter is a time for examining, pondering, and introspection. Winter is the time for being sincere with ourselves, and about ourselves. Constant gradual change is the order of the universe and only those worthy human attributes of honesty, loyalty, love, and trust in ourselves and our God are to remain constant. Winter is a time for being grateful for our achievements, or for having the strength to endure our lack of achievement. Don’t pray for things to be easier, rather, pray for more strength to handle obstacles and more challenges, for it is out of these that man’s character and will to succeed are formed.

Tomorrow Has Arrived

By: Challen W. Waychoff II, ND

Thomas Edison said that the doctor of tomorrow would be a doctor that would understand that
diet is the best medicine. According to Webster’s New Reference Library Dictionary medicine is defined as “the science of diagnosing, treating, or preventing disease”.

We, at Heavenly Water, understand that what a person eats or their diet has a huge affect on the health of the individual. “The Secret … is in the Diet”, which is one of the ten books that I have authored to date on health, addresses this topic.

Since the beginning of time man has tried to explain disease or ill health of the human race. There have been many different theories over the years such as the “Humoral Theory”, “Germ Theory” and now the “Health Theory” which is the theory that I have named and is explained in a booklet titled “The Health Theory”. Notice that all of these systems are theories and according to Webster’s New Reference Library Dictionary a theory is “abstract reasoning”.

We at Heavenly Water study and teach “The Health Theory”. I am a “Doctor of Naturopathy” or a “Traditional Naturopath”. Most of the public have never heard of such a doctor let alone go to one. A “Traditional Naturopath” believes that the body has the ability to heal itself if you give the body the proper diet, clean air, clean water, rest, exercise and so forth. A Traditional Naturopath does not treat an illness or a disease he/she just teaches the laws of nature. The more of these laws that one follows the healthier the individual will become and the less health problems one will have in one’s life.

Doctor comes from the Greek word meaning to teach. I teach people how to cook, what to cook, how to remineralize the food that you cook, take a few supplements, and follow the laws of nature. I do not treat a disease, I just teach people that come to me how to live a healthier lifestyle.

Health is like the air that we breathe, we never think about it until it is gone. When we lose our health at any age we want it back immediately but the body does not work that way. Most never regain their health once it is loss. There is an old Chinese proverb that states: “Illness early in life usually means a long healthy life”. This is so true because if you are young and you have a health problem then you appreciate your health and you will usually do the things that will maintain your health. I see so many people that do everything that they can think of to destroy their health and then when they become ill they say: “I don’t understand why this happened to me?” It’s very clear to me.

With the high costs of insurance and conventional medical care the time has come in this country for everyone to take responsibility for their own health. It’s just like your money, no one will manage your money the way that you manage your money and no one will manage your health the way that you will manage your health. The present day insurance industry will not pay for you to visit a “Naturopathic Doctor” so you will need to pay that out of your own pocket.

The “tomorrow” that Thomas Edison referred to is here! Not only because of the high cost of conventional medicine but because of many other reasons such as loss of productivity from illness. There are countless number of reasons why each of us should learn how to have a healthier lifestyle. Some will not care, but many will and each should have the chance to make that decision for themselves and for their own family.

Please feel free to contact Dr. Challen Waychoff II regarding how to improve your health, so you too will have the opportunity to live a better life.

Challen W. Waychoff II, N.D. graduated from Waynesburg College in 1971 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He studied with Dr. Carey A. Reams for several years and learned the Reams Biological Theory of Ionization. On November 26, 1997 he earned his Doctor of Naturopathy degree from Clayton College of Natural Health out of Birmingham, Alabama. Mr. Waychoff opened Heavenly Water and started teaching the “Health Theory” in 1995. Mr. Waychoff has his office now at 1061 Market Street in downtown Wheeling and may be reached at (304) 230-9283.

Dianetics: The Missing Link in Naturopathy

By: Jody Kincaid, DVM, ND

Naturopathy looks at man as a whole organism. The communication channels of the cells and systems of the body, the interplay of form and energy, the gross and subtle layers of physiology all are considered in naturopathic medicine. I tell every one of my patients that I analyze them as a mind: body: spirit composite Being, and that we shall be dealing with their health on each level. What is the anatomy of the mind: body: spirit integration and how do we explain and handle issues in the mental and spiritual plane?

First, anatomy. One can liken life to a computer system. The body is your hardware. The main frame, the hard drive, all the connecting electronics and physical pieces set up a system that is capable of working in a certain way. The mind is comparable to software programs. The mind records all of the data of existence and stores memories as perceptions arranged along a sequential time track. The mind conducts activities with the data it records, comparing incidents and outcomes and determining what choices for future actions best suit the individual’s survival goals. The mind has folders in which it stores data by association as well as temporal sequence, and the mind works on two levels of awareness (which we will discuss soon.) Lastly, the actual being, the soul, the spirit of the man, whatever you choose to call a life unit, that entity sits at the keyboard of this computer system and directs the activity of the mind and the body via the mind’s programs. However, just like a computer, if the mind, the software, is infected with a virus (an influence outside of the being’s control) or the software doesn’t work properly due to overload (stress) or some other form of breakdown and malfunction, then the mind will cause the body to malfunction as well. This is called psychosomatic illness. The key to understanding psychosomatic illness in the practice of naturopathy is critical, as the mind controls function, rather than function (structure) controlling the mind.

L. Ron Hubbard was researching this subject during World War II, working with the influence of mental trauma on military personnel and the manner in which it affected their health. He worked with Japanese prisoners of war from the Battaan death march. The doctors at Oak Knoll Navel Hospital did not understand why the POW’s did not respond to injections of hormones to try to stimulate healing and recuperation. Mr. Hubbard showed that by relieving, through Freudian style analysis, the mental trauma they had endured that their bodies would then respond to the hormone injections. Mr. Hubbard continued the research after the war and developed the science and technology of Dianetics.

Dianetics means ‘through the mind’. Mr. Hubbard postulated that the spirit of man controlled the body via the pathways of the mind, and that all psychosomatic illness is due to the improper function of mental circuits. When one thinks that up to 70% of illness is at least partly psychosomatic, one then realizes the potential benefits of a therapy that will correct the mind and its function. Mr. Hubbard compared the mind to an old style adding machine. The calculations which we make are all directed toward one purpose – survival. However, if one is continually using your “adding machine” to calculate answers, one must remember to hit the “Clear” button between each calculation or one will be adding prior, unrelated data into the present time problem. He pointed out that if a key on the adding machine, say the “5”, was stuck down, it would then influence every calculation by a factor of 5.

What if the mind could have a “held down 5”? What if some unknown data was being included in all of the mind’s calculations regarding survival? In his research into the mind, Mr. Hubbard demonstrated how physical trauma influences the mind. He showed that memories of pain and at least partial unconsciousness are separated from the conscious memory banks. He showed that memories of pain and unconsciousness, and all of the perceptions recorded in them, react upon the body when a present time situation restimulates the moment of pain and unconsciousness. Memories of painful incidents are blocked from conscious recall by separating them into a separate “folder” in the mind. This folder is below the level of consciousness, hidden by the inability and unwillingness of the person to face the pain, fear, etc, contained in the memory. The incidents in this folder are blocked out of view but they are not inactive. The “folder” is opened when a present time situation approximates the memory in the folder. Then the perceptions in that memory are reexperienced by the person as a form of warning. The mind is saying that if you don’t do something, that the original painful moment might reoccur. This is a held down “5” in your mind, that subconsciously controls you and your body.

For example, suppose a person was in car wreck, hit the windshield and was briefly knocked out. He woke up with a horrible headache. In the future, the sound of screeching tires may well be enough to restimulate the headache. The headache is real, but caused by a memory, not a physical condition. This is a psychosomatic illness. This is the effect of the “held down 5” phenomena, in which the memory of that car crash becomes incorporated into present time survival calculations, even though the wreck was years ago.

Can you recall a patient that apparently had a psychosomatic component in their health issues? Can you recall one that doesn’t? In order for our naturopathic therapies to achieve their maximum effectiveness, we must be able to remove the psychosomatic component from our cases. The technology of removing psychosomatic influences is Dianetics. Dianetics is a technology of communication which permits a patient, under the guidance of a counselor, to confront and erase the memories which cause psychosomatic ills. It is done with the patient conscious and participating, unlike hypnotism which can install unconscious commands.

Dianetics restores the mind to its full potential and removes the influence of the subconscious from the body. Anyone can learn the techniques and theories; they are simple and direct and can be used anytime. Then one can truly offer total natural healing.

You can learn how to use Dianetics by attending our educational workshop that is being offered at the ANMA Convention on Friday July 24th from 2 to 6 PM. Take advantage of this great opportunity to learn how to use Dianetics in your life and your practice. You can incorporate true mental healing into your work with effectiveness.

Vein Lite: A Chinese Herbal Formula For Cardiovascular Problems

By: Tsu-Tsair Chi, NMD, PhD

INTRODUCTION

Proper circulation is vital to one’s health because, it drives many of the body’s processes. The circulatory system transports blood throughout the body. It regulates cellular oxygen levels. It controls lymphatic movement. Even the brain is partly dependent on good circulation as it uses up to 20% of the body’s oxygen intake.

Maintaining proper circulation entails keeping the blood vessels and the blood itself healthy. Blood vessels must be reactive and flexible enough to allow blood to pass through. In addition, blood must be at the right consistency in order to flow optimally.

Many factors contribute to the proper functioning of the blood vessels and the blood. For instance, hormones like angiotensin and prostaglandins constrict the blood vessels. Nitric oxide, on the other hand, is a well-known vasodilator.

In the blood, there are factors that affect its viscosity. Fibrinogen, for example, can deposit along the blood vessel walls and slow down blood flow. The way red blood cells are clustered (aggregation) also affects how smoothly blood can flow.

When circulation is poor or when the blood vessels are impaired, many diseases can arise. For instance, coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the most common cardiovascular disorders, especially in industrialized nations. The heart muscle requires a constant supply of oxygen and nutrients, delivered through the arteries, in order to function normally. When blood flow through the arteries become impaired, CAD results.

One of the causes of CAD is hardening of the arteries, or atherosclerosis. The lining of the arteries eventually become clogged with accumulated fat, cholesterol and other particles-- collectively known as plaque. The deposits lead to the narrowing of the arteries or a blood clot when the plaque is suddenly ruptured. Stroke is the most likely result when this happens.

You can follow certain diet and lifestyle practices to ensure healthy circulatory function. Supplements can also promote healthy blood vessels, address blood-coagulating issues and reduce cardiovascular disease risk. Being able to identify cardiovascular symptoms can also help detect disease early and stave off complications.

Vein Lite is a unique combination of Chinese herbs shown through clinical studies to increase blood flow, lower blood pressure, enhance cellular oxygen levels, and improve symptoms of poor circulation such as cold limbs, numbness, darkened lips and even angina. Toxicity studies show that it is a very safe formula with a lethal dose of (LD50) of 12 g/kg.

CLINICAL STUDIES

Vein Lite reduces blood coagulation factors

Various mechanisms are responsible for its effect on circulation and cardiovascular function. Primarily, it improves blood flow by lowering blood thickness, dissolving fibrinogen, and reducing platelet-clotting factors.

A study involved 130 patients with poor circulation. Normally, it takes 2.4 seconds for blood to travel to from the heart to the toes and back. For the subjects of this study, it took more than 3.4 seconds on average. After taking Vein Lite for 30 days, blood flow improved among the patients (See Figure 1). Vein Lite reduced blood viscosity (28.9%), decreased fibrinogen (26.6%), reduced red blood cell aggregation (38.1%), lowered the index of thromboelastrogram (36.8%), and increased microcirculation (38.1%).1 As a result, the precipitation of fibrin in the blood vessels is minimized, enabling normal oxygen and nutrient exchange in cells. When this happens, blood circulation increases, toxins that were trapped in the cells are released into the bloodstream and then excreted through the kidneys.

Figure 1

Furthermore, Vein Lite lowers thromboxane 2 (TXB2), a lipid that constricts blood vessels, increases blood pressure, and promotes platelet aggregation.2 Lowering it, therefore, also lowers the risk for ischemic events and thrombosis.

Vein Lite on Lipid Profile

Salvia miltiorrhiza, used in this study, is one of the most commonly used herb for cardiovascular disease in China. In a study of coronary heart disease cases, 127 men and 73 women participated with ages ranging from 42-87 years. Eighty percent of the group were over 50 years old. Of the 200 patients, 35 had diabetes and/or coronary heart disease. After 2 months of taking Vein Lite or Salvia miltiorrhiza, results were compared and illustrated in Table 1.

Table 1

With Vein Lite, there was a 13.97% decrease in total cholesterol compared to an 8.46% decrease with Salvia. Similarly, Vein Lite was more effective than Salvia in reducing both ß-lipoprotein and triglyceride levels after 2 months.

Vein Lite increases pulmonary and coronary circulation

Not surprisingly, Vein Lite promotes circulation to and from the heart and lungs. Because it reduces blood-clotting factors, blood is easily transported through a system of arteries, capillaries, and veins from the lungs to the organs of the body and back to the lungs. The oxygen-rich blood flows through the lungs, oxygenating different tissues of the body. Muscle contractions squeeze the blood vessels and veins and keep blood circulation going quickly and smoothly.

A study was conducted by the China Western Medical School and Beijing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine followed 315 patients from 1989 to 1992. It investigated the effect of Vein Lite on symptoms associated with high blood pressure (38 patients), cerebral vascular conditions (24 patients), chronic obstructive lung diseases (60 patients), senility caused by cerebral vascular accidents (21 patients), coronary heart disease (angina pectoris) and hyperlipidemia (172 patients).

Each day the test groups were given 3 packs of Vein Lite for periods between 4 and 12 weeks, depending on when the first signs of alleviation of symptoms were observed.

Figure 2

Overall, Vein Lite was 92.2% beneficial to the patients, with results ranging from improved to completely effective (See Figure 2). In particular, the formula worked best to alleviate the following symptoms: heaviness of the head, limb numbness, nausea, anxiety, cold chills. Neck stiffness and heart palpitations were symptoms that were alleviated to a secondary degree. Positive results were also seen in the mitigation of symptoms of edema, right upper quadrant pain, portal vein hypertension, jugular vein distension, dark tongue due to blood stasis, cerebral vascular conditions, and senility. Speech capacity and language comprehension abilities were also improved.

No changes were seen in chemistry panels, electrolytes, liver/kidney function tests, or EKGs, indicating no adverse side effects. As a side note, kidney function tests showed improved results after taking Vein Lite. Only 4 out of the 315 experienced any degree of nausea, dizziness, and/or diarrhea. These subsided with no intervention within a few days after taking Vein Lite.

Further studies show that circulation is indeed important not just for recovery from cardiovascular conditions but also from diseases that affect specific parts of the body.

Vein Lite improves peripheral blood circulation

As seen in Figure 1, Vein Lite increased microcirculation by 38.1%. Another study shows that it does improve blood flow to the limbs and promotes blood vessel health as well. The study involved 37 patients with diabetic neuropathy. In this condition, diabetes directly causes microvascular injury involving small blood vessels that supply nerves. Numbness or tingling of the limbs is a typical symptom. After 2 months, Vein Lite was 78% effective in reducing neuropathy symptoms. This is because Vein Lite improves microcirculation, peripheral blood flow and blood vessel structure.

Vein Lite regulates Na+K+ATPase

Another function of Vein Lite is it regulates Na+K+ATPase (NKA), also called a sodium pump or a sodium-potassium exchange. This is an enzyme that maintains the body’s electrolyte and fluid balance.3 Inhibition of NKA activity is associated with an anti-arrhythmic effect. Inhibition of NKA enhances heart contractions and slows down heart rate.4 However, it is important to note that NKA inhibitors also increase intracellular Na+, so hypertensive patients should be careful as this increases blood pressure. This is not a concern with Vein Lite since it also has antihypertensive activity, as you will see in the next section.

Vein Lite reduces hypertension and ocular blood pressure

Due to its ability to reduce coagulating factors and inhibit NKA activity, Vein Lite is able to reduce blood pressure as well. This was evident in a study 400 hypertensive patients. After only 15 days, there was an average decrease of 13.32% in systolic pressure and an average decrease of 11.47% in diastolic pressure (See Table 2).

Table 2. Vein Lite on average Systolic and Diastolic pressure of 400 Hypertensive patients after 15 days

Before
After 6 months
Systolic Pressure
153.9
133.4
Diastolic Pressure
93.3
82.6

To reinforce Vein Lite’s blood pressure-lowering effect, it was tested on 116 glaucoma patients. Glaucoma is caused by excessive fluid pressure in the eyes, leading to vision loss. After 6 months, Vein Lite was 50% effective in reducing ocular blood pressure and improving circulation in the eye among the patients.

Another study showed how Vein Lite regulates pressure to other parts of the body as well. In this study, 82 patients with neck and spinal disc Herniation were involved. After 6 months, Vein Lite was 92.6% effective in relieving disease-related symptoms. This is because Vein Lite reduces pressure on the central nerve system.

Vein Lite improves cerebral function after a stroke

Vein Lite not only reduces the risk for cardiovascular conditions such as CAD and stroke but also increases brain circulation to improve memory and cognitive function after a stroke or in relation to Parkinson’s disease. Electroencephalogram (EEG) tests show increased brain wave activity among senile patients after taking Vein Lite.

In 56 patients who suffered a stroke, Vein Lite was able to improve cognitive impairment after 6 months.

A 6-month study on 32 Parkinson’s disease patients found that Vein Lite increased the effectiveness of Medopa, a drug used for Parkinson’s disease. For better results, take Vein Lite with Asparagus Extract, which is rich in organic folic acid. Studies have shown folic acid can decrease the risk for Parkinson’s disease.5

DISCUSSION

It is apparent from the presented studies that Vein Lite could be very beneficial to those who suffer from CAD and other cardiovascular conditions.

It has already been shown to reduce coagulating factors such as fibrinogen, viscous blood, aggregated red blood cells and thromblastrogram. In addition, it reduces cholesterol and triglycerides. With these functions alone, Vein Lite can be beneficial in reducing the tendency for plaque buildup, thereby minimizing damage to the blood vessels and lowering the possibility of forming blood clots.

Regulating heart rhythm and strengthening heart contractions are benefits that can also be derived from Vein Lite through its function as an NKA activity inhibitor. Some may be concerned that this particular function may be problematic for hypertensive patients (as NKA inhibitors tend to increase blood pressure). With Vein Lite’s antihypertensive action, this is not a concern.

Studies have also shown that Vein Lite apparently improves circulation and blood pressure throughout the body, not just the heart. This was evident in the study on ocular blood pressure, peripheral circulation and cerebral circulation. It was even effective in improving cognitive function in stroke and Parkinson’s disease patients.

With its broad spectrum of functions and applications, Vein Lite could potentially be a very viable alternative herbal formula for cardiovascular function. Further clinical studies are needed to fully establish it as such; however, these preliminary studies have already shown its promising potential.

What Leads to
Business Bondage?

By: Jim Carr, MBA, Certified Business Coach

Many owners/managers feel like a prisoner to their business, employees and customers. What are the common causes of such business owner bondage? How do the chains get tighter and tighter?

After working with hundreds of business owners, I believe the following five to be the most common causes of business imprisonment:

  1. Technical tendencies,
  2. Busyness,
  3. Ineffective leadership and delegation,
  4. Inadequate or missing business systems, and
  5. Growing business complexities.

Technical Tendencies

Habits determine destiny. Too many entrepreneurs are former technicians now masquerading as owners. They think they are entrepreneurs, but they don’t act that way. As once accomplished technicians, they have a hard time letting go of such expertise and familiarity. They remain trapped in a technical comfort zone, mindset and work approach. Sadly, such technical expertise is insufficient for managing a business. Moreover, they fail to develop the visionary, strategic, and leadership skills necessary to run a successful business.

Busyness

Many owners confuse activity with accomplishment. They confuse busyness with results. Hard work with smart work. Perspiration with purpose. Efficiency (doing things right) with effectiveness (doing the right things). Instead of working smarter, many owners hold tight to the delusion that working harder and harder is the solution. They keep trying to shift into higher and higher gears. The more the business grows, the harder they work, the more imprisoned they become. No matter how much energy you expend, however, wrong strategies inevitably lead to poor results – less freedom and more headaches. It is like trying to catch fish in a pond with your bare hands. No matter how many hours you work or how deep you wade, a poor strategy leads to poor results – no fish dinner!

Ineffective Leadership and Delegation

Far too many small business owners are by default small leaders. Instead of leadership, they excel at doer-ship. They are micromanagers that like to touch and control everything. They trust no one but themselves. They believe “no one does it as well as me”. They seldom delegate, if at all. They mistake such busyness for business leadership. Instead of thinking and leading like owners, most think and behave like employees. Instead of reflecting and planning, they excel at sweating and doing. They act like they have a job instead of owning a business. To lead effectively, one must trust others. Not developing their leadership potential costs them dearly.

Inadequate or Missing Business Systems

A vast majority of owners don’t know how to design a new business or re-engineer an existing one to be more systems-oriented and professionally equipped with plans, procedures and policies. As a result, entrepreneurs don’t create and document the processes (specific and repeatable ways to do something), procedures and policies that allow for well organized, smoothly running, easier-to-manage companies. Without defining and documenting the specific work that needs to be done, owners can’t delegate effectively and eventually remove themselves from their technical roles. As a result, owners are forever feeling “out of control”. Tragically, most entrepreneurs have unknowingly, reactively and accidentally created an owner-centered and owner-dependent company. They are trapped!

Growing Business Complexities

A growing business with its increasing number of customers, transactions and problems will eventually crush a business not properly designed and prepared to handle such growth. Without effective leadership and adequate business systems (an integrated web of processes), a growing company does not stand a chance. Growing pains are unavoidable. Producing predictable and consistent results will be nearly impossible. By failing to plan for growth, you are by default planning to fail.

Busyness, technical bias, poor delegation, inadequate leadership and business systems, and the growing complexities of a business lead to a life sentence of working on the chain gang – your company. Fortunately, our coaching processes, along with your willingness to change, can serve as your “get out of jail free card”. I can help you to escape the blues and the tyranny of technical busyness. You will no longer have to be the jack-of-all-trades for your company. Growing pains will subside. You will learn to be master, not servant. You will learn to lead more and work less. You will learn to shape your company by design, not by default.
